Why You Should Hire a Virtual Assistant

Updated: Jul 10, 2018

If you have been following the news lately, Alberta and Ontario are increasing minimum wage once again and now aiming for $15 an hour. Great news for potential employees, but bad news for small business owners. Many small businesses are struggling as it is to make ends meet with the current minimum wage in place. It is expensive to run a business, make a profit and it’s not only with the little guys. Everything is changing. Larger companies are experiencing tax implications, cut-backs, fewer resources, etc. Everyone is working harder, maxed out and it’s only going to get worse. It’s time for a shift in the way that business is conducted. By hiring a freelancer, it’s a win/win all around. Not only are you supporting another small business, you can actually help grow your business and make more money by doing so. Many freelancers like myself are quite talented in their area of expertise and know what it takes to help take a business to the next level. By delegating the tasks that you don’t have time for, you can focus on acquiring more leads and closing sales. Now doesn’t that sound great? Read on!

I initially recognized a need for virtual assistants a long time ago, but only recently took the plunge to start my own company just over a month ago. I knew I ultimately wanted to work for myself, embark on a new challenge, have flexibility, variety and more. BizEBee Marketing & Support Services was established at the beginning of October 2017 with the primary goal to assist business SME’s with their marketing, sales and event support needs. Focus on what you do best and let BizEBee take care of the rest. I am blown away at how positive the response has been in just a month and have already taken on a handful of clients. Whether you have a small, one-time project that requires a few hours of event support, ongoing social media management needs, event coordination and more, BizEBee takes care of it all. No project is too big or too small. Many of my clients require just 10 hours a month to cover their needs. It is just enough hours during the month for them to focus on their priorities and know that everything else is being taken care of.  I love working with a variety of different businesses and learning what they are all about. I always chat about confidentiality upfront with my clients as this is of utmost importance and want my clients to know they are in good hands. I am professional, reliable and trustworthy. One thing I will tell you though is that I am by no means an expert on everything. I consider myself to be quite computer savvy and a strong marketer, but I have no problem saying no to a client if their needs fall outside of my wheelhouse.  I am happy to refer them to another business that I know can handle their request. There are some amazing agencies in the city!

Whether you are looking for remote assistance or require someone on a part-time basis in your office, BizEBee is here for you and ready to help you tackle your business needs. The cool thing about virtual is that I can assist clients all over the country and even around the world with my services. However, I enjoy working locally in Nova Scotia so that I have the chance to meet my clients face-to-face and can work to build long-term relationships with them. We live in such a high-tech virtual world today as it is, so it is nice get out of the office and meet someone for coffee – or a glass of wine! I look forward to continuing to meet new people, working with great clients and building my business. So far so good and I am just getting started!
